Requests from your page, and what to do with them

Where they land, what accepting does, and why nothing is booked until you say so.

A request is a customer asking. It is not a booking. Nothing on your calendar moves and no unit is held until you accept it.

Requests live under the Bookings tab, on the Inquiry chip. The tab carries a count while any are waiting, and the newest one also shows as a card on Today, so you can answer without leaving the home screen.

Open one to read what they asked for before you decide. Accept and it becomes a real booking with the units held. Decline and it moves to your declined list rather than vanishing.

Time passes between a request arriving and you reading it. If one of those units was booked in the meantime, we say so instead of accepting on top of it — open the calendar and sort the clash out there. Nothing is created until it is clean.

Your customer is never shown a refusal, and never told why. From their side a request was received, and the next thing they hear is whatever you send them.

Want the answer to happen without you? See "Letting a booking accept itself".
